Intention Prediction Mechanism In An Intentional Pervasive Information System

چکیده
Nowadays, the development of pervasive technologies has allowed the improvement of services availability. These services, offeredby information systems (IS), are becoming more pervasive, i.e., accessed anytime, anywhere. However, those pervasive information systems (PIS) remain too complex for the user, who just wants a service satisfying his needs. This complexity requires considerable efforts from the user in order to select the most appropriate service. Thus, an important challenge in PIS is to reduce user‟s understanding effort. In this chapter, we propose to enhance PIS transparency and productivity through a user-centred vision based on an intentional approach. We propose an intention prediction approach. This approach allows anticipating user‟s future requirements, offering the most suitable service in a transparent and discrete way. This intention prediction approach is guided by the user‟s context.Itis based on the analysis of the user‟s previous situations in order to learn user‟s behaviour in a dynamic environment.

A New Approach for Service Discovery and Prediction on Pervasive Information System
Recent evolution of technology transformed the way we interact with Information Systems (IS), leading to a new generation of IS, the Pervasive Information Systems (PIS). These systems have to face heterogeneous pervasive environments, whose complexity they must hide from end-user. In order to reach transparency and proactivity necessary for successful PIS, new discovery and prediction mechanism...
متن کاملAn empirical technique for prediction of nucleation mechanism and interfacial tension of potassium chloride nanoparticles
Prediction of the nucleation mechanism is one of the most critical factors in the design of a crystallization system. Information about the nucleation mechanism helps to control the size, shape, size distribution, and purity of the produced crystals. When the crystallization method is used for producing nanoparticles, the nucleation mechanism should be predicted. In this study, an empirical cor...
متن کاملA semantic-aware role-based access control model for pervasive computing environments
Access control in open and dynamic Pervasive Computing Environments (PCEs) is a very complex mechanism and encompasses various new requirements. In fact, in such environments, context information should be used in access control decision process; however, it is not applicable to gather all context information completely and accurately all the time. Thus, a suitable access control model for PCEs...
متن کاملIntentional weighting: a basic principle in cognitive control
Human perception and action are tailored to the situation at hand, and thus reflect the current intentions of the perceiver/actor. We suggest that this is achieved by an "intentional-weighting" mechanism. It operates on the cognitive representations of the features of perceived events and produced event--perceptions and actions that is. Intention- or goal-related feature dimensions are weighted...
متن کاملIntentional action: conscious experience and neural prediction.
Intentional action involves both a series of neural events in the motor areas of the brain, and also a distinctive conscious experience that "I" am the author of the action. This paper investigates some possible ways in which these neural and phenomenal events may be related. Recent models of motor prediction are relevant to the conscious experience of action as well as to its neural control. S...
